RUSSIAN LIPS home care instructions

After the procedure the following side effects may occur in the lip area:

  • Bruises
  • Redness
  • Soreness
  • Itching
  • Tingling
  • Swelling

All of these are common post-injection reactions. They are temporary and usually disappear within a few days. However, if the symptoms persist or other symptoms appear, contact the provider of the filler treatment.

The initial swelling of the lips may last a long time and sometimes some degree of swelling lasts up to a week. In this case, the lips may look a bit asymmetrical. The result immediately after the treatment and in the days following the treatment is not final. The final result can only be assessed two weeks after the filler treatment.

Avoid touching the treated area during the first six hours. After that, you can gently wash the area with water.

Also avoid the followings for 3 days after the procedure.

  • Kissing
  • Strong/ big movements with the mouth
  • Pouting and pressing lips together after applying lip balm/ lipstick
  • Light makeup can be applied to the treatment area immediately after the procedure.

Do not expose the treated area to heat (solarium, sauna, direct sunlight) or excessive cold until the swelling and redness have completely disappeared. During the first few days, it is also good to avoid heavy physical activities. Physical activity speeds up the loss of the filler somewhat.

Medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid or ibuprofen (e.g. aspirin, Disperin, Burana) and some natural products ( Omega 3, vitamin E) can increase the occurrence of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

It is also important in this technique to remember not to rub/ massage the lips yourself before the post-check, this way you ensure the correct shape and the filler to stay.
