Microblading

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow enhancement technique that creates a natural and refined result.

The technique uses a blade made up of several small needles arranged in a row, designed to replicate individual eyebrow hairs as accurately as possible.

During the microblading procedure, pigment is deposited into the superficial layer of the skin, between the epidermis and dermis, using a disposable blade.

Microblading is particularly suitable as an alternative for people who naturally have very little or no eyebrow hair. It can be used to fill in sparse areas of the eyebrows and to correct their colour, shape and symmetry.

In general, microblading is suitable for healthy skin. However, the procedure is not recommended for pregnant clients or for people with conditions such as diabetes, bleeding disorders or a tendency to develop keloid scars.

Pigmentation should never be performed over a mole.

The client must inform the microblading technician about their current state of health and any medical conditions and must sign a liability waiver before the procedure.

Microbladed eyebrows typically last approximately 12 months. However, longevity varies from person to person and depends, among other things, on skin type.

For example, dry or dehydrated and thin skin tends to retain pigment better than oily skin. Therefore, clients should be aware in advance that pigment retention and possible colour changes vary between individuals.

For 2–3 days after the procedure, the pigment will appear significantly darker than the final result, so do not be alarmed.

A scab will form over the treated area and will eventually fall off. As this happens, the pigment becomes lighter and the true final result becomes visible as the skin heals.

  • PERMANENT MAKEUP / MICROBLADING CANNOT BE PERFORMED IF:

    • You are pregnant, breastfeeding or currently menstruating.
    • You have a chronic medical condition (e.g. kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, cancer, heart disease or arrhythmia), are undergoing a course of medication or take regular medication. In these cases, the treatment can only be performed with written permission from a specialist physician.
    • You have a viral or bacterial infection (e.g. influenza, hepatitis B, AIDS or tuberculosis).
    • You have a cold or fever.
    • You have an active herpes outbreak.
    • You have a bleeding disorder or are taking blood-thinning medication.
    • There are bruises or swelling in the treatment area.
    • The treatment area has rosacea, a hemangioma or a birthmark.
    • There is a cyst or any fluid-filled lesion in the treatment area.
    • The skin in the treatment area is inflamed or you have acne or a rash.
    • Collagen has been injected into the lip to be pigmented within the previous 6 months.
    • The lips to be pigmented are cracked.

    • AFTER PERMANENT MAKEUP / MICROBLADING

It is extremely important that the client follows the aftercare instructions carefully. This helps prevent possible infections and ensures that the final colour result develops as intended.

      • The pigmentation will appear darker for approximately one week. After this, excess pigment will flake away together with dead skin cells. Do not scratch, rub or remove the flaking skin/scabs yourself.
      • Clean the pigmented area with water only and, after cleansing, apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare cream designed for permanent makeup. The cream can be used while the flaking/scabbing is present.
      • Avoid using greasy creams, skincare products, mascara and lipstick on the treated areas for approximately one week.
      • Avoid direct sunlight and solarium for 8–10 days, as UV radiation may alter the colour.
      • Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sweating for 4–5 days.
      • To prevent inflammation/infection, avoid sauna for 28 days and swimming for 14 days.
      • Eyelash extensions can be applied or refilled one month after pigmentation.
      • Eyelashes and eyebrows can be tinted two weeks after pigmentation.
      • Soothing eye drops can be used if the eyes become irritated.
      • Swelling may occur during the first few days after eyeliner pigmentation. A cold compress (dry, not wet) can be used to reduce swelling.
      • Lip pigmentation may trigger a cold sore outbreak. If symptoms appear, you can use Zovirax or a similar product.
      • Do not donate blood for four months after micropigmentation.
